ABOUT

Helena Willeke is a textile-, fashion designer and artist based in Germany and Sweden. The beginning of her work is often a central material or theme to be explored and the associated emotions and fabric properties. She is passionate about natural materials, crafts and new technologies. Her curious, creative and mindful way of working leads to a high theoretical as well as artistic quality. The combination of external and internal inspiration, research and intuition, knowledge and experimentation characterize her projects.

In her fashion studies at Pforzheim University Helena Willeke developed structured work, research methods, teamwork, concept creation, presentation skills and her passion for experimental material creation in harmony with nature. Studying fashion, she also gained knowledge in pattern construction, material technology, draping and a feeling for fabric movement. During her textile design studies at Burg Giebichenstein Halle and HAW Hamburg, she spent her time with textile development, expanded her knowledge of textile structures, techniques and production methods. Continuous development through 3D programs, new craft techniques, fields of work and topics is of great importance to her.
